The Azores archipelago belongs to the biogeographic region of Macaronesia, one of the richest in terms of biodiversity in europe.
It’s one of the most isolated archipelagos in the world and supports a significant number of endemic species unique of each island. In our days, indigenous vegetation can be found in a few inaccessible places, in craters, coastal cliffs and mountain slopes.
About 60 species of higher plants are endemic to the Azores and exist nowhere else in the world. This tour will explain you the relation between the original landscape and influence of the man after the settling. We will share with you some hidden spots with rarities and very unique species in the world. A scientific approach, like a truly expedition to discover something unique.
