A journey where it is possible to observe the coastal landscape with the alternating layers of viscous lava flows and pyroclastic deposits.
Pass through the ‘Ponta das contendas’, an important nesting habitat of protected seabirds, consisted of three islets of an ancient peninsula that formed due to sea erosion. This is the nesting spot of the Common tern (Sterna hirundoSterna Dougalli), as well as Cory’s shearwater (Calonectris diomedea borealis).
This is a protected area where motor boats are limited, the kayak being the most distinctive way to arrive to this fantastic bay with clear waters.
